What we do

Lux Engineering specializes in the evaluation of structural roof members for the attachment of solar panels. We evaluate existing structural members according to the standards and adopted codes of the Authority Having Jurisdiction for each address. After our analysis is complete, we write a letter with a professional engineer’s stamp approving the structure for the additional weight of the solar arrays or recommending additional reinforcements. We are currently licensed and practice in Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Illinois, and California.

Questions And Answers

We are currently licensed in Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Illinois, and California.

Most letters for homes with pre-manufactured trusses will cost less than $100. Prices vary depending on the complexity of the job and deliverables. Discounts are available for larger volumes of jobs.

Typically we will get letters to you within 48-hours of receiving all of the information we need to perform our analysis. More complicated jobs may take slightly longer.

We work hard to familiarize ourselves with AHJ requirements for each jurisdiction in which we practice. Occasionally a plan reviewer will have comments in which case we will work to resolve their request as soon as possible. You will not be charged additional fees for AHJ comments.

We would be happy to become licensed in additional states and help you with those jobs. Please contact us for more information.
